Padres v PV Braves - Round Two

The Padres travelled to Pleasant View to face the Braves for the second time after hosting them in Joelton a few weeks back.

WOW! Those boys' bats were smoking today!! Everyone hit and got on base. The crowd went wild when Desmond Crowder popped it down center field and got on first!! Kudos to Bryce Collier and Alec Harris on a great game of pitching. There were two double plays in this game as well -- awesome job. It's been truly amazing to watch the Padres grow as a team and do so well.

Dug-out mom was exhausted after the game, which was almost two hours long. Enjoy the photo of her in her "sleeping chair" following the game.

Some of the great comments heard during this game were:

"Go Speed Demon."
"Go Speed Racer."
"Show them what you're made of."
"Give me something to scream about."
"Sooooooweeeeet"

Final score for this game was 22-0.

Joelton Competitors Face Off - Padres Narrowly Defeat Dodgers

At our first in park competition between two Joelton teams, the Padres and Dodgers faced off tonight. We could not have ordered better weather with temperatures in the high 60s and full sunshine. The sun was even so bright the catchers needed sunglasses. The Padres led the game 8-1 until the fifth inning when the Dodgers came back with 5 runs making the final score 8-6.

Padres Foil Pleasant View Braves

Despite near freezing temperatures, the Padres pulled out a 15-2 win over Pleasant View Braves tonight. Way to go, guys. Bats were cracking throughout the park as the boys came up to bat. Defensively, the boys held the other team to only two runs which was incredible!

Burr.......3/6/08

Well is this fooball season or baseball season?!! Weather wise our 2nd practice wasn't very good, but productive wise for the players it went good!! At least they got to go on a field, now if they could feel their feet walking on the field, I am not too sure!! Maybe it will warm up soon!
Parents hang in there too!

1st practice 2/4/08

Well the 2008 9/10 Padres met for the 1st time at a batting cage in Hendersonville on 3/4/08 due to cold and wet weather. The boys all seemed really excited to finally have a bat in hand and getting to hit the ball. We were only missing one player, Kaleb Watkins, because he was running a fever. Hopefully he will be well and will get to join us at the next practice. I hope everyone has fun and learns alot this year! Go Padres!
